An open top container has a removable tarpaulin roof for tall or crane-loaded cargo. With the tarp and roof bows off, you can lower machinery, timber, scrap, or bulk material in from above, then cover it again for transport or storage.

When to choose an open top
Choose an open top when your cargo is too tall to fit through the doors or has to go in by crane or excavator. For loads that are also too wide, a flat rack container removes the side walls from the problem. For ordinary storage, a closed standard container is cheaper and more secure.
