Shipping & Delivery Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2024
Forge Containers coordinates delivery of the products in your accepted order. This policy forms part of our Terms of Sale. The delivery method and site requirements depend on what you buy, where it is going, and how it will be unloaded.
1. Delivery area
We arrange deliveries within the contiguous United States, subject to confirming service to your specific address. This policy does not offer delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or destinations outside the United States. Tell us about remote access, ferries, seasonal roads, or other route restrictions before ordering so we can confirm whether delivery is available.
2. Standard and expedited delivery
Standard delivery is included for website orders displaying that option. We do not add an ordinary distance-based delivery charge to an order presented with included standard delivery.
Expedited delivery is optional. The fee displayed in your order summary is charged once per order and covers priority handling and the earliest available delivery slot. It does not promise a particular arrival date unless we expressly agree to one in writing. If we cannot provide the expedited service you purchased, we will explain the alternatives and refund that fee if you proceed with standard service.
Special lifting equipment, installation work, or a delivery arrangement outside the stated scope requires a separate written quote. We will identify that work and its price before you agree to it. If we discover before acceptance that we cannot provide the offered delivery service, you may decline the revised arrangement and receive back any payment made for the unaccepted order. We will not silently replace included delivery with a paid service.
3. Timing and shipment delays
We confirm the shipment or delivery window for your product and address in the order correspondence. Availability, custom work, access requirements, and the transport method affect that window. Please distinguish the date a product leaves its dispatch location from the date it arrives at your site.
An estimated arrival window is not a guaranteed appointment. However, a stated shipment time carries the applicable shipment and delay-notice obligations. For an order covered by the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, if no shipment time is stated, we must have a reasonable basis to ship within 30 days of receiving a properly completed order. Waiting for our internal processing or bank clearance does not extend the statutory clock.
If we cannot meet the applicable shipment deadline, we will notify you before it expires, give a revised date or explain why one is unavailable, and offer cancellation with a full refund for the unshipped goods and associated charges. We will obtain your agreement to wait; if you decline or do not provide the required agreement, we will cancel and refund the affected order. Custom goods remain subject to applicable delay and refund rights.
We will also tell you about a material transit or delivery delay and coordinate the next available arrangement. The refund procedures are in our Returns & Refund Policy.
4. Delivery equipment and scope
Before dispatch, we will confirm the unloading method and who provides the necessary equipment. Depending on the product and site, delivery may involve a tilt-bed vehicle, flatbed, crane, forklift, or another suitable method. Do not assume ground-level placement or crane service is included unless it is stated in the accepted order.
Placement is limited to the agreed, safely accessible delivery point. Foundations, anchoring, leveling work, assembly, utility connections, and later relocation are separate services unless listed in your scope. If customer pickup is available for your order, we will provide the collection location, appointment instructions, and loading responsibilities in writing. Do not travel to a yard without confirmation.
5. Preparing your site
Before we finalize delivery, provide accurate information about the access route and placement area, including:
- Gate and road widths, turning space, gradients, overhead wires, trees, and other obstructions.
- Soft ground, recent rain, steep approaches, weight restrictions, bridges, or restricted delivery hours.
- Septic systems, drains, underground utilities, paving, and other surfaces or structures along the route.
- The proposed supporting surface, required door orientation, and available unloading space.
- Property-owner consent, permits, and any site rules the driver must follow.
We will confirm clearance requirements for the actual product and vehicle. A general figure in a buying guide is not a site-specific delivery assessment. Arrange a firm, suitable support area and keep people and vehicles clear of unloading operations. Use qualified local assistance for engineering, utility identification, and foundation requirements where needed.
6. Failed delivery, waiting, and rescheduling
You or an authorized adult representative must be reachable and available at the agreed time, unless another arrangement is agreed in writing. Contact us promptly if access, ground conditions, or your availability changes.
The driver may stop an unsafe unloading operation. If an undisclosed site condition, lack of access, or your requested change causes extra transport, waiting, or redelivery, we will explain the additional work and seek approval. Any charge must follow a rate or cost basis disclosed and agreed before it is incurred; we will not impose an undisclosed penalty. We do not charge you for a failed delivery caused by our failure to follow the agreed arrangements.
Heavy equipment can leave marks on unsuitable surfaces. We will discuss known placement risks, and you must identify hidden site hazards you know about. Responsibility for damage depends on its cause and applicable law. This policy does not release us or our delivery providers from responsibility for negligent operations.
7. Receiving and inspecting the product
When it is safe, check the product, quantity, apparent condition, and agreed finish before the driver leaves. Note visible damage, missing items, or discrepancies on the delivery paperwork, take photographs, and contact us immediately if possible. Ask us for instructions before refusing delivery; safety always comes first, and this request does not limit a lawful right to reject nonconforming goods.
Please report visible delivery problems within 3 business days. That period helps us investigate promptly; it is not a cutoff for concealed defects, warranty claims, or rights that cannot lawfully be limited. Signing a receipt does not establish that you inspected areas you could not safely see.
For delivery we arrange, risk remains with us until unloading at the agreed point is complete and the product is made available to you or your representative. See our Terms of Sale for ownership and customer-arranged pickup.
