What a high cube container is
A high cube container is one foot taller than a standard container (9ft 6in on the outside), adding usable vertical space. The footprint is the same as a standard unit of the same length, so it fits the same site but holds taller pallets, racking, and machinery.
Sizes in this category
- 20ft high cube units, including one-trip boxes fitted for IBC storage, the caged plastic totes used for bulk liquids
- 40ft high cube units, the most common long-format size
- 45ft and 53ft units for maximum volume where the site has room for a longer box
Access options
Not every high cube has doors only at one end. This category includes:
- double-door units with cargo doors at both ends
- 40ft full side access units, where the long side opens for forklift loading along its length
- units with 2 or 4 side doors, a middle ground between end-only and full side access
- side-opening and sliding-door units set up for IBC or hazardous waste storage
Condition grades
Listings are either one-trip, meaning shipped once from the factory overseas and then sold, or used. Each product page states the condition, so check it before you compare prices between two similar units.
Is the extra foot worth it?
If you'll stack pallets, install shelving, or convert the box into an office or workshop, the extra height matters. For plain ground storage of boxes and tools, a standard dry container often does the same job. Request a quote on any unit and we'll confirm price and delivery to your site.
